Slingluff, 103, of Toledo and formerly of Montour, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Premier Estates of Toledo. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Rev. John Epperson, Grinnell Regional Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Visitation will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home. Dale was born on October 4, 1914, in rural Montour, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Verna (Frantz) Slingluff. He graduated from Gilman High School in 1933. Article Photos Dale E. Slingluff On June 25, 1943, he was united in marriage to Helen L. Hempy in Montour, Iowa. Dale farmed his entire working career and sold seed corn. He was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Church. Dale and Helen enjoyed traveling and wintered for many years down south mostly to Texas. Survivors include one son, Terry (Jeanne) Slingluff of St. Cloud, MN; one daughter, Barbara (Elmon) Tatroe of Waverly; five grandchildren, Vicki Slingluff, Ryan Slingluff, Todd (Jen) Tatroe, Adam (Carrie) Tatroe, and Randy (Kayla) Tatroe; eight great-grandchildren, Camryn, Ty, and Lyvia Tatroe, Leah, Tate, and Reed Tatroe, and R.J. and Vivian Tatroe; one sister-in-law, Darlene Boriskey of Tipton. He leaves behind many friends in the community and at Premier Estates. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Helen in 2001; one brother, Max Slingluff; and one sister, Doris Anderson. UTC Jul 30, 2018 VAN HORNE: Judith “Judy” M. Kuch, 79 died Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne with Rev. David Lingard officiating. Interment will be in the Keystone Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM until service time on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the St. Andrew Missionaries. Phillips Funeral Home – Vinton is in charge of arrangements. Judy was born November 29, 1938 in Vinton to Herman Conrad and Mildred Matilda (Fry) Brehm. She was baptized on June 23, 1940 in Van Horne. Judy graduated from Van Horne High School She received her Teaching Degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Judy was united in marriage to Donald A.E. Kuch on August 12, 1962 in Van Horne. She was later confirmed on April 3, 1967. Judy was a second-grade teacher at Keystone Elementary for many years and later worked as a teacher at Kindercare in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne where she taught Sunday School. In her leisure she enjoyed knitting and sewing. Judy is survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Marc (Kim) Kuch, Terry Kuch, Lori (Chandler) Woodward, Pamela (Rand) Hartman; her grandchildren, Syrena, Meghan, Ryder, Nathen and Olivia; her step-grandchildren, Brad Campbell, Mallory Daily, Alison Mundt, Karleigh Miller, Mackenzie Miller, Hannah Miller, Eli Miller; her step great grandchildren, Colin, Kenley and Brinley Campbell, Brielle and Calvin...
